'(15 Mar 2019) FASHION WEEK PAKISTAN CONCLUDES WITH JOY, LIGHT AND COLOR The three-day gala of Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) Summer/Spring 2019 concluded on Thursday (14 MARCH 2019) in the port city of Karachi with total of seven shows by various local designers. On the earlier two days of the FPW, various designers showcased their collections with large numbers of fashionistas, socialites, glitterati and celebrities in attendance.  The FPW is considered as one of the biggest extravaganzas in which top designers from Pakistan showcase their upcoming clothing collections. During the finale of FPW, leading fashion designer Tena Durrani showcases her outfits themed \'Nur\', a prelude to a season of joy, light and color.  The collection was an ode to confident, progressive women. Durrani\'s collection gently pushed the boundaries of the traditional bridal silhouettes and color themes, woven together with impeccable craftsmanship.  The collection promotes female empowerment, says Durrani. Another designer Huma Adnan\'s collection was about Monsoon wedding.  \"My collection was full of colors, energy, a lot of fun.  I want the bride of today to have fun in her wedding, not be a painful bride with kilos and kilos of weight on her.  I want her to enjoy her wedding like others are enjoying,\" she added. According to her, the refreshing designs parallel with the freshness in the air that carries the blissful omen of rain and blossom.  These dresses are for happy souls who want to let their hair down and celebrate their happiness with their loved ones. Fashion journalist Aamna Haider Isani believes initiatives like FPW promote celebrities, entertainment and film industry in a developing country like Pakistan, and the event brings culture and crafts alive.  However, she said Pakistan lacks fashion infrastructure. \"The problem is only with system development and I think that is the problem with entire country.  There are no institutions but with the fashion schools, of course, we have more trained designers, so that has changed, the marketing has changed, the branding has changed.  So it is evolving.  It\'s very slow because the country\'s conditions don\'t allow faster growth, but I think that it\'s getting more and more regular.\" Other designers during the finale included Nomi Ansari, Amir Adnan, Saira Shakira, Zainab Chotani and Pink Tree Company.
