'REPLAY Designers including Nakul Sen and Rizwanullah present collections at Pakistan fashion week'

'(28 Mar 2012) DAY 2 OF PAKISTAN FASHION WEEK: NAKUL SEN & RIZWANULLA Indian designer Nakul Sen was center of attention Tuesday (27 March) on the second day of Showcase 2012 in Karachi. This is Sen\'s first visit to Pakistan. He praised Pakistan\'s fashion industry and expressed hope for a joint venture between designers from Pakistan and India. \"So much of beautiful crafts (from) both sides of the world and we should really exchange it, we should get into business which I\'m hoping should start soon enough, and yes it will do the great to both the countries,\" he said. Featuring gowns, dresses and cocktail sarees, Sen says his brand is dedicated to exquisite, contemporary evening wear and jewels for discerning and stylish women across the world.  \"It\'s really about evening wear, we are show casing whole lot of glamorous gowns, sarees, cocktail dresses, thats what we are showcasing,\" he added. Pakistani models were also excited to see the presence of foreign designers at the event. Model Ayean Ali said this is a good opportunity for Pakistani models to showcase their talent. \"I think, see they (foreign designers) are promoting their culture and we\'re best at our work, so there is no comparison, they\'ve bought their culture and they\'re showing it here and we are promoting our culture. Of course, I will say number one will be Pakistani designers, but probably they (foreign designers) are number one in their countries, so there is no comparison at all,\" Ali said. \"I\'ve always gained from such events because it is always going to promote our fashion industry, our industry as a whole, be the fashion models, the designers, the event managers, it promotes the positive image,\" said Nadia Hussain, one of the most experienced models in Pakistan. Rizwanullah, a young designer from Karachi, received praise from the crowd as he showcased his work, which he called \"art meets fashion.\" \"I showcased the collection which was made out of pure denim, denim which is used for jeans. It\'s a universal fabric, I think that if somebody has does well in Denim than he is super star overnight and it was lot of fun, the inspiration behind this collection was life itself, I believe people always say that fashion is art and this and that is art, I feel whatever you call art is art ... so my collection to me was art, and it depict a very personal side to my life,\" said Rizwanullah. The second day of Showcase 2012 also included collections by Zainab Sajid, Farhan, Ambreen, Rang Ja by Bareeze, Ellemint by Sofia Lari and Maryah Dada.
