'(27 Dec 2015) PAKISTAN\'S TWO DAY MEN\'S FASHION WEEK KICKS OFF Pakistani fashion continues to take major strides, reaching another landmark with the beginning of the two-day \'Fashion Pakistan Week Men\'s Fashion\' at the historical Mohatta Palace Museum in the southern city of Karachi Saturday (26DEC2015). Although women\'s fashion is the dominant part of the industry industry, making its mark globally, the Pakistani men\'s fashion is fast becoming fashion-savvy. The emergence of local men\'s designers with their trendy attire ranging from formal wear to urban chic, traditional dresses for grooms to ethnic designs the dapper dresser no longer need to visit Paris and Milan. One of the most sought-after Pakistani designers is Syed Rizwanullah. His latest ensemble, titled \'Fashion Relapse\', is an expression of his personal trials and tribulations while taking inspiration from \'Zombie Boy\' stylistically. He created the most buzz on the first day of the two day event. With shades of black and white and grey forming the color palette, his stylistic innovations provide ample bling for the millennial generation. \"I thought of stuff that you can wear forever, and stuff that you can pull out any day and wear it, no matter what the occasion, no matter what the event. And, you know, it\'s for the young man, and for the fun man, and for the man who\'s not scared to experiment, and for the man who\'s not scared to experience new things, and have a little bit more fun. And the materials I used were everyday friendly. I used puree cotton; I used cotton; I used denim; and then I used stuff like leather and lace and jersey It was an eclectic mix of fabric, I should say,\" Rizwanullah said. A welcome development on the Pakistani men\'s fashion scene has been the activity of major textile houses and manufacturers as they branch out into retail fashion. \'Kapray\', a brand of a leading textile manufacturer, has a trendy mix of the classical and the modern, fusing Eastern and Western, offered a wide range in its winter collection. \"We are basically working on a fast fashion retail model where every product has a shelf life. So whether it sells or not, it comes on the shelf and it goes off the shelf regardless whether it sells or not. So, I mean, the idea behind it is more of a disposable fashion sort, as, I mean, consumers want things fast, and that is exactly what we are giving,\" said Hazik Ahmed, Kapray\'s brand manager, regarding its philosophy. Four other designers showcased their collection with offerings for everyone including sleek elegant formal wear as well as vibrant bridal collections. But it was Rizwanullah\'s collection containing experimental traditional as well as modern elements, which had the audience most excited. Fashion journalist Zurrain Imam, who has known the designer personally, explained how the thematic colors of the collection reflected Rizwanullah\'s personal life and his trouble with addition. \"His (Rizwanullah) collection was black and white, moving from the darkness in his life to white. So, you know, shades of black and white and those shades of grey that sort of represented his un-surety. But hopefully he will do well in the future,\" Zurrain said, hinting that Rizwanullah\'s best is still to come. The second and final day of Fashion Pakistan Week Men\'s Fashion is on Sunday (27DEC2015) with some of the biggest names in Pakistani fashion showcasing their latest collections.
