DESIGNERS SHOW COLLECTIONS AT PAKISTAN FASHION WEEK Mixtures of traditional patchwork block print and white dresses were showcased by designers at the second day of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 in Karachi. Emerging designer Adnan Pardesy, a graduate from Asian Institute of Fashion Design, showcased his work of \"Ralli\" - a traditional patch work in Sindh province of Pakistan - with some inspiration of Japanese Origami. It wasn\'t an easy journey for Adnan Pardesy to prepare these collections; he has been working on this for more than a year. An excited Adnan says he used all type of stuffs in this collection, but it was mainly aimed for winters. \"Basically it is inspired by a ralli (a traditional patch work of Sindh Province) craft, I just wanted it to twist it in my own way and make it origami which is Japanese art of paper falling, so I combined the two which is very Adnan Pardesy in lot of ways, but the new thing was you know, for me, for the first time I did so much color, putting them together and making them work, so possibly that was the all collection about winters and autumn, it is all about happy times for me,\" Pardesy said. Adnan was also praised by fashion journalist Zurain Imam who feels that the designer had something different to showcase. Model Nadia Hussain spoke of the importance of fashion week.
