'Fashion Pakistan Week draws to a close'

'(26 Oct 2019) FASHION PAKISTAN WEEK DRAWS TO A CLOSE  The three-day gala of Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) Winter Festive 2019 concluded on Friday in the port city of Karachi with eight shows by various local designers. On the earlier two days of the event, various designers showcased their collections with large numbers of fashion enthusiasts, socialites, glitterati, and celebrities in attendance.  The FPW is considered one of the biggest extravaganzas in which top designers from Pakistan showcase their upcoming clothing collections. The last day saw Saba Asad showcase her collection titled \"Limitless,\" which was an ode to confident, progressive women. \"My inspiration is strong women of today, who are independent, modern, yet they are family-oriented and they are very traditional,\" said Asad after the show. \"When these women are going to a wedding, they want to wear chic, classy, heavy yet with modern cuts. The fabric which I have used is chiffon, and the embellishments are with pearls, Swarovski and crystals.\" Deepak Perwani\'s collection was inspired by Shalamar Gardens. \"We have shown about 20 bridals and 20 menswear, this is a fall-winter collection for the house of Deepak Perwani, the colors are very beautiful, they are pinks, peaches, roses, red and purple, like the royal colors,\" explained the designer. Various of celebrities mad an apperance on the last day, including cricketer Wasim Akram and Darian Arky, Deputy Consul General of the US consulate Karachi.    Designer Amir Adnan praised the event. \"Pakistan is a new country, we are a developing country, Pakistan itself is a struggling country towards betterment,\" noted Adnan.  \"But if you look at the progress we have made, very recently with the new government, with the new policies that have been formed, I think we are making great progress and its not going to take long till our fashion industry is going to be one of the very progressive, profitable, and high value-added industries for the country.\"    Other designers showing on the last day included were Zainab Chotani, Nauman Arfeen, Sadaf Fawad Khan and Ayesha Ibrahim.
