'http://www.karenkooper.com I attended the Hermes Spring-Summer 2008 Ready-to-Wear Runway Show which took place on Friday, October 6th 2007 at 5:30 PM at the Jardins du Louvre, Place du Carrousel, Paris 8ème. I was able to be head-to-head with Jaul-Paul Gaultier, creative director of Hermès for over 4 seasons already. Gaultier gave a fresh breath of air to Hèrmes tradition by integrating a multicultural theme into this upcoming collection. As we spoke, he explained his new take: \"the insiration went from India ..to london\" Beyond the cliché Hermès Birkin & Kelly-only references, Jean Paul Gaultier is faithfull to his JPG style. With a flair for overturning the norm, we were all delighted by the exoticism since the first model strut the runway, with Mariacarla Boscono (VIVA) opening the show wearing a gold turban matching her \"drape\" silhouette, white Nehru jacket worn over jodhpurs with riding boots but in croc! Only JPG can bring together the enthralling exotic stylistic spices of the East and mesh them with the Western traditional, marrying Hermès historical equestrian roots with the delightfully unknown.'
