SOUNDBITE (English) Jean-Paul Gaultier, Designer: \"I feel that it went not too bad and I was feeling that during the collection do you know because really I do it with like love and passion because I love the way I have to work and the savoir faire of Hermes and the tradition also and there is a part of that, that I love even in my own collection. Mixed with the tradition and also the way that they treat people. They treat and they are like human beings when you are working with people from Hermes. Which is like something very rare in our days. So, it was a pleasure to work with them and also I learned a lot you know, because they have a lot of savoir- in there. I have, as couture you know savoir-faire but, but there is some new things about the leathers, the skins that are fabulous how to choose them. So, good lessons. So, I am still learning so I am still a student.\" (Q:\"About the colour palette?\") Oh it was quite around you know like the skin and also going with all the different colours hair and like that. Like also horses you know. Like all the ones that are very pale, almost white and the one\'s that are like reddish, which are beautiful so it was all about that. And also about the hair and the accessories were around that and around the like the fabric and the leather they were in those colours of the skin.\" 16. Set up Linda Evangelista 17. SOUNDBITE (English) Linda Evangelista, Model: \"I think it was very Jean-Paul and very Hermes at the same time. It\'s uh, gosh more than I expected but you know, it was you know, the ultimate luxury house modernized and whimsical and just perfect.\" 18. SOUNDBITE (English) Hilary Alexander, Fashion Editor, London Daily Telegraph: \"It was a very, I think at times, unexpected marriage. But I think that Jean-Paul Gaultier galloped away with the first prize. I think without a doubt he has found a true home and I think that the collection that he showed for Hermes today was probably one of the best collections that he had ever done in his entire career. If you have chandeliers hanging in your stables, this is definitely the way that you should be dressing\" 19. SOUNDBITE (English) Hilary Alexander, Fashion Editor, London Daily Telegraph: \"There was a lot of dressage influence in there you know the long skirts that women use for side-saddle riding. The way the hair was done, the straps across the veiling the cut of the jackets. I think it was taken from the very best traditions of equestrian life and from the Hermes life. Which of course, is bound up with the horse from the very beginning.\" JEAN PAUL GALLOPS AWAY WITH HERMES COLLECTION The riding ring at the historic Ecole Militaire in Paris was the triumphal setting for Jean-Paul Gaultier\'s victorious debut launch of the Hermes Fall/Winter 2004/2005 collection. Over 1,000 guests packed the huge space where Gaultier rallied his creative forces to modernize the traditional, \'old money\' house in a perfect marriage of whimsical beauty. There was a gorgeous cavalry charge of a catwalk where the models pranced in true riding gear style, crops and all.
